The last four weeks have been very busy for the Adaptive program.
On the recreational and junior development front I would first like to introduce Braydon, our newest sit skier who is coming to practices in Madison with Brenden, welcome Braydon. We also had a great day at the Janesville school for the blind with over 25 children trying out sit skiing, roller skiing and biathlon.
We have also been busy with our military veterans program with demo days at the Recreational Institute of Chicago and at the Valor games the following week next to Chicago White Sox stadium. Both venues generated a lot of interest, with over 50 people trying out the Ski Erg and biathlon shooting. Thanks to Rob Rosser of the US Paralympics program for his all help and knowledge.
Our busiest group this month was the Paralympic program in which Steve Baskis, James Veltri, Augusto “Goose” Perez and John Oman all participated. Steve and James spent a week here in Madison training at Badger Prairie and the Center for Excellence while Goose and John came for the Paralympic Experience demonstration in Waunakee. Goose also trained at the Center for Excellence over the weekend.
All in all a very satisfying month of activity.
