Nick Power and Rosie Frankowski Win Great Bear Chase 50k Skiathlon

CALUMET, Michigan (March. 6, 2016) – The Great Bear Chase 50k Skiathlon wrapped up the final race in the inaugural CXC Marathon Cup series. CXC Team athlete Nick Power and APU Nordic Ski Center’s Rosie Frankowski claimed the 50k Skiathlon victory.

In the women’s 5ok skiathlon, Frankowski skied to a convincing first place finish 4:40.8 before CXC Team athlete Natalia Naryshkina and CXC Team athlete Alice Flanders who finished third. CXC Team athlete Nicolette Reker finished in the top 10, placing seventh overall.

In the men’s skiathlon, CXC Team athlete Nick Power dominated the race by 2:27.8 over teammate Chris Pappathopoulos and Traverse City, MI’s Alex Vanias who finished third. CXC Team athlete Andrew Brown just missed the podium and finished fourth while teammate Cory Ellertson finished 10th overall.
