Coaches, program coordinators and event representatives met between April 16-24, for the Great Lakes, Central Popular Events, Youth and Junior Committee Meetings, to discuss the details for the 2016-17 season.
The goal of the meetings was to develop proposals and share best practices on how to improve and grow programs, events and the sport as a whole.
“The new formation of the CXC Popular Events Committee was an especially exciting addition to the spring meetings. There were 15 coaches participating on the Youth Committee Eau Claire, WI and a full room of coaches at the Great Lakes Junior Committee meeting in Marquette, MI as well as the Midwest Junior Committee meeting in Eau Claire.
Special thanks to the American Bikebeiner Foundation for hosting the inaugural Popular Events Committee meeting and Robert Lazaronni, USSA Domestic Program Manager, for making a trip from Park City, UT to join us at these meetings.” – commented Yuriy Gusev, CXC Executive Director.
“Exciting new format changes were brought up for the CXC Marathon Cup,” – said Great Bear Chase Race Representative, Craig Hughes. “The meeting was also a great opportunity to share ideas and best practices for hosting ski races. I brought home several ideas that will improve the Great Bear Chase.”
