The CXC College Cup is a newly established race series for college clubs and teams in the Midwest region. It aims at creating a competitive structure for teams outside of the NCAA circuit.
The series follows well known races such as the Seeley Hills Classic (Seeley, Wis.), Ski Rennet (Bloomington, Minn.), Noquemanon Ski Marathon (Marquette, Mich.), City of Lakes Loppet (Minneapolis), Vasaloppet USA (Mora, Minn.), American Birkebeiner (Cable to Hayward, Wis.) and the Great Bear Chase (Calumet, Mich.).
Registration is open to any collegiate club or team willing to participate and see where they stand among its competitors.
The races counting towards the overall cup are not limited to a specific distance meaning that teammates can choose whatever distance they desire and they will still be scored. The more teams participate, the better the points.
CXC COLLEGE CUP – RULES AND SCORING
1) In order to enter the series, teams have to register at with a $100 Cup registration fee.
2) In order for individual competitors to be considered for their respective teams, they need to hold a CXC Supporter Membership.
The top three athletes from each team score points, in other words, if the fourth skier from one team places ahead of the top skier from another team, points will only be awarded to the latter. Additionally, if there are several teams racing, team multiplier will be used. This multiplier is simply the number of teams competing within a distance and category of the race and it is projected on the base points used for scoring.
* points table may be subject to change
