Central Cross Country Skiing (CXC) is seeking a development director to manage private giving with a focus on major gifts and to lead a capital campaign for CXC’s new outdoor recreational facility and training center.
Over the last decade, CXC has established itself as a progressive sports organization with innovative programs that are helping grow the sport of cross country skiing in the Midwest.
CXC is a non-profit sport organization recognized by U.S. Ski and Snowboard and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) as the regional governing body for the sport in the 10-state Central Region of the United States.
CXC’s plan for an outdoor recreation and training center in Middleton, Wis. has gained strong public support with a master plan that will impact the regional recreationally and provide CXC with a unique training center for up and coming athletes.
“Our new CXC development director will play a really critical role in the formation of the new training center,” said CXC Executive Director Yuriy Gusev. “We are fortunate in the Midwest to have many passionate skiers with great professional experience. This is an opportunity for someone with non-profit fundraising experience to really make a difference for our sport.”
The training center project is well into planning with $2-million already committed for the project from local community leaders.
The full-time fundraising position will be based at the CXC office in Madison. It will be focused on the capital campaign along with annual giving, special events and grants. CXC is seeking someone with five years of fundraising experience along with a track record of working well with local community leaders and non-profit boards.
