In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, CXC Skiing announces $8,500 in grants as part of the CXC/Salomon Club Support Program to member clubs that offer programming and race support for youth (U16) and adaptive youth. Each qualified club will receive $500 to support program operations impacted by Covid-19.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Salomon and National Nordic Foundation for matching funds and to the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation for providing the venue and infrastructure for CXC to host the series of early-season ski lessons during the inaugural Turkey Birkie Ski Festival. The lessons were staffed by volunteer instructors from the Cable and Hayward, and all proceeds from participant fees were allocated towards the CXC/Salomon Club Support Grant Program.
Special thanks to the volunteer instructors:
“Even with all the uncertainties surrounding junior level racing this season, there is one thing that we do know, the importance of supporting youth Nordic skiing through our local ski clubs. Salomon is excited to partner with CXC to provide these clubs with financial grants to further their missions of coaching education and youth development programming.” – Andre Watt, Salomon National Nordic Community Race Manager.
“Creating opportunity that enables people to experience the enjoyment of gliding is so important, now more than ever. It will take a village to ensure the sport of xc skiing grows along with the lifestyle that accompanies it and the clubs are at the heart of making this happen.” – Ben Popp, American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation Executive Director.
“Clubs are the backbone of our sport and our goal will be to continue supporting our member clubs with grants on an annual basis.” – Yuriy Gusev Central Cross Country Skiing Executive Director
CXC Skiing remains hopeful that we will see each other on the ski trails and race venues soon. We are in this together!
